It’s true that we’re all worried about rising gas prices, but it’s not just about the fact that we spend much more today to drive to and from work than we did previously. It’s true that gas prices are past three dollars a gallon at present, but it’s not just we as drivers who are affected.

In fact, rising gas prices have had an impact on everything from food prices to consumer goods; really, they impact just about everything we buy. In fact, rising gas prices have had a very negative impact on the economy as a whole.

Because of our nearly mindless reliance on fossil fuels over past generations, we’ve only given a passing nod to other alternative and renewable energy sources such as water fuels and biodiesel.

Today, we have no choice but to look at these alternative fuel sources. They’re within our attention now simply because we must pay attention to them.

Biodiesel fuels and water fuels are both renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources that we can fuel our cars with. These fuels are available now and can positively impact both the environment and our wallets.

Biodiesel fuels utilize plant sources such as corn to produce oil. The oil is then burned as a fuel source. Biodiesel can also re-use used cooking oils such as those discarded by restaurants; this is a great way to keep more waste out of landfills. Biodiesel fuels are completely renewable energy sources and can burn somewhat cleaner than fossil fuels can, so that they can be a much better alternative to fossil fuels such as gasoline to fuel cars with.

Water fuel is yet another way to stretch our fossil fuel resources. You need to utilize gas to some extent with water fuel, but this technology will give you much more mileage per gallon of gas than you would have without it.

With water fuel, you effectively double your gasoline mileage; if you install this conversion kit in your car, an electric current from a battery “burns” water to give you amazingly efficient fuel. Even though this technology has been around for a while, it’s now gaining increased popularity among consumers who wish to stretch their gas mileage.

One caveat to biodiesel is that although it is renewable, it does produce some pollution and has been questioned as a truly advantageous source. In some cases, it’s been suggested that more fossil fuels are used during biodiesel production than are actually saved through use of biodiesel instead of gas. Therefore, water as fuel may be the more advantageous source to use.

However, water conversion kits may not be available in every area, which would make biodiesel a fine alternative instead. This is especially true if your biodiesel would come from used cooking oils. And as technology gets better, biodiesel will likely become a much more efficient fuel source because it will no longer be manufactured by using fossil fuels. Instead, biodiesel will be produced by using alternative fuels instead.

Regardless of concerns such as the above, it’s clear that our days of reliance on fossil fuels indiscriminately and as though they are endless and renewable are over. Rising gas prices may simply be a wake-up call to tell us we need to change our behavior.

Biodiesel fuels and water fuels are two alternative energy sources that can help us save the environment and our own pocketbooks as well.
