Recently consumers have become very critical of the type and brand of dog food they buy. With the recent dog food scares many have turned to natural and organic dog foods, or have turned to making thier own homemade food for thier dogs.

Many countries require a nutritional food panel to show consumers what they are buying with that bag of kibble. This nutritional guide provides a display of the quality of food and its ingredients in order to provide the consumer with a basis of comparison between the brands that are out there.

The problem lies in the fact that there is no mechanism for a Dog Food Report to be given for a producer in terms of quality or the ingredients being used in their foods. Indeed, many manufacturers take no quality checks on their food, resulting in the lack of oversight should there be an issue with ingredients or the manufacturing process until the product is in the hands of the consumer.

With this kind of limited oversight in the wake of the most recent dog food poisonings many governments have begun seeking ways to regulate dog food manufacturing. Many have decided upon coming up with a report that would list the quality of the ingredients of the food allowing the consumer to see what was in their pet’s food along with some verification that the ingredients are fresh. In this case the cost of peace of mind would be welcomed.

One way a Dog Food Report could help is that it would allow the average consumer to have a look at what exactly is being fed to their pet. The report would contain a quality report of the ingredients of the food, allowing the consumer to see what was in their pet’s food along with some assurance that the ingredients are fresh.

The Dog Food Report would also give a nutritional value check of the food by an outside testing facility or government lab. The facility would verify the claims for nutrition, and would update a package with the newest report information. This would give a great deal of power to the consumer when buying thier dog food.

Another great benefit is the ability for the consumer to comparison shop, putting all food makers in a line up for all to see. This kind of comparison shoping could drive the dog food manufacturers to create better quality food.

The need for a Dog Food Report is critical for the production of safer, higher quality dog foods in this day and age. If manufacturers were required to do more oversight, the quality of the dog foods sold worldwide would improve drastically.
