Mystery shopping companies offer a business the opportunity to look deeply into their current processes, namely their customer’s experience. It is not a new concept, yet many businesses as well as consumers are unaware of its existence and its benefits. If you are looking to earn extra income and would be interested in learning more about becoming a mystery shopper, the first thing that you need to do is to locate reputable mystery shopping companies. Not all mystery shopping companies will offer the same services to their clients, the same training or the same compensation programs. It is important that you research the available companies in an effort to select the best match for you.

In this article, we wanted to provide you with some helpful tips on choosing from various, mystery shopping companies. After all, more than 400 of these companies exist in the United States alone, meaning your choices are incredible. Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in fraudulent companies cropping up. A new problem has to do with fraudulent cashier’s checks paid to shoppers. Additionally, some of these companies require a substantial fee be paid to become a shopper or client. However, once the shop is completed, reimbursement for services provided or promised reporting never comes. The good news is that most mystery shopping companies are legitimate, organizations that work with top quality shoppers and companies, those that are free to join, and companies that take this type of service seriously.

However while many companies that ask for a fee upfront are fraudulent, there are some decent mystery shopping companies which also ask for payment. Most do tend to be free though so it would be a safer option o stick to those ones whenever possible. In your search for the right mystery shopping companies you should look at their goals. A good company will be insistent on giving their clients the best service. They should also value their mystery shoppers too.

Another great way to find mystery shopping companies is to read blogs. With a growing number of shoppers and companies using this type of service, you can conduct a Google.com search, locating blog sites to read real experiences by those doing and receiving the shops. In most cases, these blogs are honest and informative, pointing you in the direction of mystery shopping companies considered the best. These blogs will also give you a heads up on companies that should be avoided or at least those requiring further research.

Once you have created a list and reviewed any available blog information, make sure that you also read about the mystery shopping company’s history. Look for things like how long the business has been established, what their current service offerings are, how many clients they currently serve or have served in the past, the payment options that they present when they hire mystery shoppers and any other details that you may be able to locate. The larger mystery shopping companies will have an entire service team that you can call into to ask questions of as well. It is important to choose a great company with a solid reputation in this industry.

Overall good mystery shopping companies will offer good customer feedback and they will have been running for quite a while. You may even be able to read references and for some mystery shopping companies they will allow you to contact their references too. By finding out the right information, you can choose the best mystery shopping companies to suit you.
