How do I plan for a group golf vacation in Las Vegas with my golfing friends? That is not the easiest question to answer. Golf trips are a great time, but they can be a huge nuisance to put together. How are you supposed to get the exact number of people necessary, pick a time of year convenient for everyone, pick a hotel that everyone agrees to and still have a great time? It’s not the easiest thing to do, but here are a few tips to help.
First of all, put together groups of 4. If you can have full foursome’s then the trip is better for everyone. Always have one or two backups on hand. Explain the situation and what needs to happen for them to attend. More times than not something will happen to one of the original golfer’s and they will be going.
The next major step would be to pick a general time frame, like the time of year that you would like to go. Therefore, you can plan the trip way in advance to provide enough time for all the tasks to be accomplished. This also gives people enough time to plan their schedules accordingly. A standard of about six to nine months is usually a good cushion to begin planning.
Once you have the time of year, you can begin looking into specific places to stay. Although you are on a golfing trip, keep in mind that the main strip of Vegas and it’s glittering lights and gambling will attract some attention from your fellow golfers. Make sure that you’re staying in a place that is nice and convenient for golfing and the local attractions of the city.
Of course you can’t forget about the cost of the trip. Most people will have a price range or a maximum amount that they don’t want to go over. It is important to once again make sure that all fellow golfers can agree on a cost that they are willing to pay for the trip. People have different financial situations and the planner needs to recognize that so that they aren’t giving any hardships to their fellow golfers. If it seems there is one person holding the group back because of financial obligations, it might be wise to either use a reserve golfer or raise funds for that individual to go.
Once you have the basic idea of price, location, and time of year, you can move on to putting everything together. A good idea is to use websites that are built for putting vacations deals and airfare together. This way you can see a variety of prices and amenities associated with things you might be interested in. Then you can pick the best deal that works for everybody. Another possibility is to call a travel agent to make sure their are no other deals you might be missing.
Keeping in touch after booking the trip is always a good idea. Calling or emailing the golfers going on the trip with date reminders, costs, and meeting times is a good idea. Ensure everyone’s happiness with all the detail of the trip.
If you just plan ahead and be considerate of everyone’s obligations, a Las Vegas golf vacation won’t give you as many headaches as it could. Just keep these hints in mind and you will be able to enjoy a much deserved vacation with everyone involved.
