Anytime you can customize something to meet your individual needs, the results are sure to be improved. Just about everybody would benefit from improved results in their lives and that is where the productivity formula comes in. The greater number of life’s little interruptions you can manage at the moment as they come along, while still progressively moving forward on your target project, will increase productivity and success. With that in mind, let’s look at these self help tips to put a productivity formula in place for you.

First of all you need a plan. The tasks on your daily lists should all be smaller parts of your bigger projects and goals; therefore every small task you achieve is moving you closer to the achievement of your bigger, long term goals. If upon review you find that your daily projects and your long term projects are not lined up, start over. You will not succeed until this is in sync.

Once you have your clear plan you need to prioritize those tasks. Some are more important than others and some have definite deadlines. Organize them as such on your list, realizing that just as some must be finished that day, some can easily be forwarded to the next day if need be.

Take a break. It doesn’t matter whether you stretch at your desk or walk around in circles. Your body and mind need breaks and a variety of stimulation. Your creativity and productivity will be recharged, making up for the work time you fear losing when you step away.

Don’t skip lunch. The body and the brain need nourishment to function properly. Your mind will be clearer and you will achieve better results when you take the time to eat.

To avoid burnout it is important to keep track of the tasks you complete as you go along because it boosts your confidence and motivation, in addition to keeping in touch with the progress of your work.

Do not procrastinate. Deal with as many unexpected tasks you can so that you don’t get bogged down later playing catch up. These tasks usually only take a few minutes to complete so deal with them immediately and keep moving forward.

Productivity can apply to what needs to be done at home, work, for the kids or for you. You have to get work done. Completing that work is called productivity. It makes life rewarding. When you develop your own productivity formula you will be amazed by how easy it to achieve the success you desire.
