The American Kennel Club (AKC) establishes the standard of every dog breed recognized in the United States. The standards of the German Shepherd breed specify what makes a German Shepherd a competition grade German Shepherd. The closer a dog comes to matching the standards of any particular breed, the greater chance that dog has of winning a dog show or becoming an American Kennel Club champion.

The history of the breed of dog called the Beagle is largely unknown. Some say the breed dates back to 200 A.D. Others believe the Beagle descends from 19th century English “Harriers,” which are a breed of medium sized English hounds. The breed began to be referred to as “Beagle” in the 1800s and was registered with the American Kennel Club in 1885. Their popularity has raised demand for purebred Beagles. A side effect is that there are both reputable and disreputable Beagle breeders attempting to profit from the sale of purebred puppies.

It is not uncommon to see a Poodle winning a dog show as their proud owners use many Poodles as show dogs. These beautiful dogs are put on display for everyone to see and if you like the image of a well groomed Poodle then you may be someone that would enjoy a seemingly endless supply of Poodle pictures. Some can be free and some Poodle pictures will cost you but in the end you wind up with a gallery of quality pictures of a breed of dog that is very camera friendly and loves to smile for the camera.

The English Bulldog has many of the normal traits found in molosser breeds though it also has some characteristics that are specific to it and which help in distinguishing the Bulldog from other dog breeds. Typically, Bulldog puppies will show a sweet temper and are ideal family pet dogs as well as excellent show dogs The Bulldog gets its name from the fact that they were originally meant to guard bait bulls. Every animal deserves a second chance and when you give a Rottweiler rescue dog a new home and a second chance you are doing a wonderful thing for yourself and for the dog. There is going to be some time for adjustment as the dog has been through a lot so make sure you exercise patience and also be sure to get good advice at all times about how to train and raise your new Rottweiler rescue dog because not knowing what you are doing with any Rottweiler can have bad results.

Although the breed standard for the Boston Terrier is pretty strict on what they should look like, they are also strict on what the breed should act like. This attention to temperament has sadly been lacking in some other breed standards like the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Even pet quality Boston Terriers who would be laughed out of a show ring will not be offended, as they will be happy for the chance to make anyone smile.

If you are contemplating getting a dog, you really want to put some serious thought into which breed you should go with. There are many to choose from, but depending on a few factors you may want to go with certain breeds. If you are particularly busy for instance then you may not want to go with a Yorkie, because Yorkshire Terrier grooming will take up a lot of time.
