Well actually, Photoshop CS4 will be a Photoshop 64-bit version of photo-editing software but only for Windows and not for the Mac OS X platform. Adobe is not trying to play favorites here, but rather it’s trying to respect Apples change they made in 2007 to their programming. Windows has been supporting 64-bit version of software since the creation of XP, but it has been moving quiet slowly as most software and hardware support 32-bit.

Selecting Colors from an Image Quickly To take a color from your image and turn it into the foreground color Press I to activate the Eyedropper Tool and then click on any color in your image. To take that color and turn it into the background color, press the ALT Key and click on any color in your image.

I have found the best way to straighten images in Photoshop is to use the Measure Tool, which fortunately takes all the guess work out of the process. As you will see in a moment, as long as you have something in the photo that needs to be straight, Photoshop will do almost all of the work for us! The Measure Tool is hidden behind the Eyedropper Tool in the Tools palette and you’ll need to click and hold your mouse button down on the Eyedropper Tool for a second or two. A fly-out menu appears and shows you the other tools hiding behind it. Click on the Measure Tool to select it.

As of version 5 and greater, Photoshop includes a very handy “Save for Web” command. This feature allows you to produce a copy of your image that is optimised for Web use. This means that the image file will be as small as possible, and that the image will use only Web-safe colours (if desired). Save for Web can produce GIF, JPEG, or PNG format images.

There are some fun ideas you can play around with in Photoshop and text. Here is a great way to make imac text in just a few easy steps: 1. Type some text. I used: TG using the font “Lucida console” the font color doesn’t matter so just pick one. 2. Now go to Blending Options (Right-click on text layer). Select (and modify) the following: Dropshadow, color to #4B6B95 Innershadow, color to #304B98 Outerglow, color to #44CAFE Innerglow, color to #314E9A Bevel and emboss Contour, now just double click on the little box and you’ll see something like this: 3. Create 2 more points to have a total of 4 points and give them the following input-output values: Point 1: input: 0% output: 0% Point 2: input: 27% output: 4% Point 3: input: 59% output: 56% Point 4: input: 100% output: 99% You’ll see something like this: 4. Select satin, change the color to #60ACFF and change the contour to “ring”. And finally select color overlay and change the color to #B7E1F7. Its this easy to create your own awesome text formats.
