There are many common tax questions that people ask before they file tax returns or pay taxes due. Tax questions can be about individual taxes or business taxes. If you have any tax questions, there are many places that you can get them answered including asking the IRS. However, most people are reluctant to ask the IRS any questions at all.

Why don’t people want to get their tax questions answered? It is not that they don’t want to but many people believe that by calling the IRS, they are automatically on the IRS radar. Some people even think that by visiting the IRS website, they stand a better chance of getting audited. In reality, this is never the case, of course.

Many people ask tax questions about whether they need to file tax returns. Preparing a tax return is a pain for most people because they have to gather lots of information together and be organized. Some people also hope that they wouldn’t have to pay taxes because they don’t earn much or for other reasons. Before you jump to conclusions, get your tax questions answered first.

Tax questions about what tax credits one can claim are very popular. There are many tax credits available for taxpayers to take advantage of. The IRS encourages anyone who qualifies for any tax credits to claim them. The next tax questions on people’s minds are then about how to claim these tax credits properly so they won’t be denied them or get into trouble with the IRS.

Common tax credits are earned income credit, child tax credit, and education tax credits. There are rules for each type of tax credit so the answers to the tax questions about a particular type of tax credit are not the same as the answers for another. Sometimes it is easy to qualify for tax credits but other times it is hard depending on the proofs you have and your circumstances.

Some years, more people have tax questions about what deductions are available to them. Tax deductions lower your taxable income so the more deductions you make the less tax you would owe to the IRS. Tax questions about charitable contributions are common because many people donate but they do not know how to claim the deductions.

If a taxpayer is a business owners, he or she usually has plenty more tax questions that need answered. Business expenses can be deducted and many business owners do. However, it is important to know what can be deducted and what cannot be otherwise you can get into trouble with the IRS. Getting your tax questions answered before you file your tax return is very important.
